Elementary Families Talk Literacy at Educational Event

Charles F. Hard Elementary School recently hosted a successful family engagement event, “Let’s TACO ’Bout the Alabama Literacy Act,” drawing a strong turnout from 2nd and 3rd grade families, students, and staff.

Held on Sept. 30, the gathering was designed to inform and empower parents regarding the state’s key reading legislation, the Alabama Literacy Act. The school aimed to provide clear facts about the act and encourage positive conversation and support for students' reading success.

The atmosphere was described as both meaningful and fun, fostering a sense of community support for every child’s academic journey. Attendees enjoyed delicious nachos while engaging in conversations focused on learning and growth. The school expressed its gratitude to the families and staff, stating it is "grateful for a community that comes together to learn, grow, and support each child’s journey."
